Financial Services Manager

Ghana - Accra

We are currently seeking a Financial Services Manager to lead the activities of the Financial Services Team for the Ghana Agricultural Development and Value Chain Enhancement (ADVANCE) program. This is a $32 million, four year, Farmer-to-Farmer Associate Award program that will increase the competitiveness of the Ghanaian agricultural sector in domestic, regional and international markets. The objective of ADVANCE’s financial services component is to demonstrate a wide breadth of profitable opportunities within the financial sector to deliver services to agricultural sector clients. With regional offices in Tamale, Techiman, Ho, Tema and Nkawkaw as well as a central presence in Accra, ACDI/VOCA’s optimum geographic coverage allows for intensive, on-the-ground support.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the Financial Services Team (FST)
- Facilitate the strategic and activity planning processes of the FST
- Coach and support the members of the FST to ensure team learning and performance
- Develop and manage collaborative relations between and among key firms and actors in the agricultural sector, and a diverse range of financial institutions

Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in the private financial services sector
- A graduate degree in a related field
- At least two years of experience managing a team of professionals
- A solid understanding of the workings of the overall financial sector
- A solid understanding of basic managerial principles of well run financial services firms, including banks and insurance companies
- Familiarity with a wide range of financial products and services including:
- Agricultural loan products
- Leasing products
- Insurance products
- Savings products
- Mobile money platforms and services
- Equity and bond placements
- Comfortable working on teams
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
