BRIEF COMPANY PROFILE

A leading international professionally managed industrial and services group, with substantial annual turnover, engaged in diverse operations, seeks to recruit the following senior professional for their Sugar Production and Electrical Co-Generation plant. This is a large agroindustrial complex consisting of a sugar mill, power house and a 10,000 hectare sugar cane estate. These facilities are expanding and modernising to produce 180,000 tonnes of sugar per annum and power export of 30 MW. Plans also exist to construct a 40 to 60 kilolitre/day distillery plant in the near future.

The business is an integrated operation employing over 7,500 personnel offering staff housing, education and medical services. 70% of the sugar cane is supplied by over 8,000 out grower farmers and they are supported by the company's professional extension service. The company is ISO 9001 certified for quality systems and is currently applying for ISO 14000 environmental management system certification.

GENERAL MANAGER

Reporting to Managing Director, the incumbent will be head of the sugar business. S/he will be an all round professional with qualifications and expertise in any one of the core disciplines of mechanical engineering, sugar process engineering, electrical engineering, agriculture, finance or human resource management. Ideally s/he ought to have considerable
general management experience at senior level preferably from a sugar industry background.
