Production Supervisor
Summary
The Wrigley Company East Africa, a local subsidiary of Mars Incorporated, a leader in the global confectionery industry and the world’s largest manufacturer of chewing and bubble gum is looking to fill the position of a Production Manager.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, he/ she will manage all resources involved in direct operations ensuring quality compliance, safety, and productivity of personnel, machinery and other departmental resources.
Responsibilities
- Set up departmental objectives and deploy action plans.
- Manage Continuous Improvement initiatives through LEAN tools including TPM methodology.
- Lead in departmental planning cycle and reporting.
- Maintain factory discipline, flow of communication and roll out Associate Engagement plans.
- Ensure GMP and Safety is well implemented and consistently maintained at floor shop level.
- Manage and roll out preventive maintenance programs under as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Production Engineering or a relevant field
- 5 years working experience in a similar role, experience in FMCG environment preferred
- Demonstrable success in LEAN programs implementation.
- Focussed to results and improvements.
- Sound knowledge of Labour safety.
- Demonstrable success histories in continuous improvement programs involving production and maintenance.
- Strong management, analytical, planning, follow through and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
