Research Analyst

We are seeking a programmer/analyst for large databases of HIV/AIDS and obstetrical outcomes. The analyst will develop and maintain up-to-date analysis datasets, plan and perform analyses with a talented in-country team, and assist in the planning and development of new studies.

The successful applicant will have a master degree in biostatistics or epidemiology, experience with large longitudinal datasets, strong programming skills, plus proficiency in longitudinal analyses, logistic regression and survival analyses. Experience with clustered data is a plus, as well as familiarity with R, MS Access, visual basic and SQL. This job requires relocation to or residency in Lusaka, Zambia.

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is a Zambian non-profit company affiliated with The University of Alabama at Birmingham. CIDRZ conducts clinical and epidemiologic research, trains Zambians and expatriates in research and clinical care, and supports the Zambian government in its fight against HIV/AIDS. Our particular interests are in provision of antiretroviral therapy and prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission, but we also have active research and clinical programs in HIV prevention, cervical cancer, contraception, and tuberculosis control.
