Value Chain Consultant, Sudan

Value Chain Consultant, Sudan

We are currently seeking a consultant to lead a team of local staff in conducting value chain analyses for the Food Agribusiness and Rural Markets (FARM) project in Southern Sudan. The objective is to assess the maize, sorghum, cassava, and groundnut value chains and develop competitiveness strategies that will inform project interventions. The consultant will evaluate market opportunities both domestically and within neighboring countries, and identify critical constraints and upgrading opportunities that will open markets to local smallholder production. The estimated level of effort is 32 days and activities will based in the Equitoria regions of Southern Sudan.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of experience conducting value chain analysis of relevant crops.
• University degree in agronomy, agricultural economics, business management or other relevant field (advanced degree is preferred).
• Experience working with international or regional NGOs and companies on USAID-funded projects is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.
• Experience working in Sudan and/or East Africa is required.
