Checchi and Company Consulting, Inc is implementing a USAID project in Afghanistan focusing on the traditional justice system that is seen as a crucial support to the counterinsurgency efforts there. Checchi is helping to re-establish traditional community-based dispute resolution mechanisms in cleared areas through a district-tailored assistance program in the south and east. The Chief Technical Advisor for this project will oversee the collection of qualitative research data that demonstrate relationships between traditional dispute resolution processes and the state justice sector in Afghanistan. The advisor will develop interpretive research designs for Afghan field teams conducting focus group and semi-formal interviews of community leaders and villagers and prepare formal written reports based on the research and other project results. The position is based in Kabul and may require occasional travel to the project's regional field offices.

  • Oversee programmatic operations, including the coordination and support of the Checchi project's Afghan field research staff.
  • Design research methodology that includes interviews, focus groups, and surveys.

  • Present research findings to groups including USAID, the US military and other international donors.

Qualification:
