DEPUTY COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE

Pakistan

The Asia Foundation is seeking a Deputy Country Representative for its office in Pakistan. Under the direction of the Country Representative, the Deputy Country Representative provides leadership support and is responsible for assisting the Country Representative in managing the Foundation’s work in Pakistan, including administration, information management, fiscal and grant management, security; the direction, supervision, and evaluation of employees, and the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of program activities as assigned. The Deputy Country Representative also assists the Country Representative in representing The Asia Foundation with the Pakistani government, public sector institutions, civil society organizations, donors, and diplomatic missions.

Requirements:

• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience managing large international development programs and staff, including in-country experience.

• A good understanding of international development issues; knowledge of Pakistan/South Asia would be an advantageA strategic grasp of the importance of sound management, reliable financial systems and clearly understood and effective procedures in the delivery of successful development programs

• Demonstrated proposal- and report-writing ability
• Excellent management, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Master's degree, or earned doctorate in a field related to Foundation interests – including but not limited to management, public policy, public administration, development studies, international relations, social sciences, law, economics, gender studies.
