The Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), a multilateral development finance institution with an exclusive private sector focus and mandated to promote the economic development of member Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries, is seeking an outstanding professional to fill its most senior executive position which is based in its Washington, D.C. headquarters:
General Manager, Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC)
Under the direction of the Board of Executive Directors and the general supervision of the Board Chairman, the IIC General Manager (effectively CEO) formulates and implements the IIC’s business and development objectives and strategy. The General Manager conducts the ordinary business of the IIC and is responsible for setting the strategic direction and long-term vision for the institution while maximizing development impact and ensuring financial sustainability. S/he provides leadership and policy direction to the organization, engages with its shareholders, and oversees all IIC operations.
We seek a seasoned executive and leader with experience in LAC, who brings excellent stature and standing in the field and relevant professional communities. Proven track record of 15+ years of relevant experience at a significant public or private corporation, development bank, financial institution, or similar enterprise required. Management experience spanning several countries within LAC is preferred.
Excellent English and Spanish language proficiency (oral and written) required, as well as an advanced degree (at least Master’s or equivalent) in business administration, finance, economics, or another relevant field. Extensive understanding of financial and operational risk on a global scale, public policy, development finance, and the role of the private sector in development is sought.
