SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Global Internet Policy Project Director, the Internet Policy and Advocacy Advisor will guide project implementation and advise project staff on local policy developments and advocacy efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:
· Monitor and research local Internet environments and identify available opportunities for action.
· Identify strategic partnerships and activities in target countries.
· Advise on the development and implementation of sub-grants to partner organizations.
· Review and analyze policy proposals and regulations related to Internet freedom.
· Guide local policy advocacy efforts.
· Represent organization at various conferences and events.
· Promote greater collaboration with relevant organizations in the Internet Freedom sector.
QUALIFICATIONS:

· 5+ years programmatic experience or relevant advanced degree
· Experience and deep understanding of Internet policy/regulatory issues
· Experience with policy advocacy
· Experience and understanding of the Internet Freedom sector
· Experience in developing or supporting international programs, including grants management
· Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively
· Proven analytical and problem-solving ability
· Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
