National Democratic Institute Senior ICT Innovations Manager

Identify new and innovative program approaches using technology. Secure program funding from new sources and existing donors. Propose and implement methodologies to mainstream new innovations across NDI’s programs. Advocates NDI’s technology solutions and its adoption.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and planning for identifying areas and programs in need of innovative technology solutions;
• Research and consult with engineers, ICT, NDI functional and regional program staff to identify innovative solutions;
• Write and manage program proposals. Work with NDI admin teams to create proposals which meet NDI and donor guidelines;
• Secure program funding for ICT innovation from a variety of donors;
• Manage communication on ICT Programs and promote NDI’s ICT and innovation programs internally and externally.
• Cultivate relationships with domestic and international organizations working in political technology, technology vendors, international democratic development organizations, NDI’s funders and NDI’s network of volunteer trainers and experts.
• Conduct in-country assessments of the role of technology in various democratic institutions and processes.
• Follow Technology team’s documented procedures and policies.
• Manage, track and complete information requests from NDI staff.
• Offer advice, training and guidance to NDI staff to promote a deeper understanding of opportunities to utilize technology to improve NDI’s democracy development programs.

Experience Required

• Bachelors Degree in Political Science or Computer Science required, graduate degree preferred.
• Twelve (12) to fourtneen (14) years relevant professional technical experience, preferably in political technology or international development required. Expertise in political organizing, elections or other political campaigns, organizational development, and/or legislative affairs preferred.
• Proven program management/ project management experience required.
• Experience with a wide variety of web technologies and mobile technologies required.
• Experience with cyber security and/or mobile security required.
• Living/working experience outside of the US, developing country work experience required.
