PROGRAM MANAGER, Center for International Studies-MISTI Africa, to manage the Accelerating Information Technology Innovation program (AITI), Empowering the Teachers, MISTI Africa internship programs, and MISTI Africa seed funds. Will recruit, interview, and admit MIT students into the AITI and internship programs; liaise with partner host institutions abroad; develop and deliver curricula to prepare participants for travel; organize prior participants to train new participants; and coordinate all placement logistics. Empowering the Teachers responsibilities include advertising the program; collecting applications and preparing them for the faculty director's review; arranging visas, travel, local housing, and office space for fellows; and working with the program director on content, delivery, and scheduling of classes/seminars. Will communicate with sponsors about the progress of programs, compose and send requested reports, and plan and host their visits to MIT; ensure the best possible flow of information about the program; oversee budgets; and develop new sources of program funding. REQUIREMENTS:

An M.A./M.S. or B.A.; excellent command of written and spoken English; excellent cross-cultural communication, networking, and negotiation skills; at least one year of experience in sub-Saharan Africa; high-level understanding of mobile and internet technologies and trends; strong social media skills; ability to work as part of a team, prioritize tasks, handle complex travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and manage multiple tasks under pressure; and skill using Microsoft Office and willingness to use and/or learn web editing and database technologies. Knowledge of South Africa and experience with or knowledge of technology startup culture and fund-raising a plus. MIT-00008880

Salary: $55-65,000
