Project Officer Fonds de la recherche scientifique - FNRS
The Fund for Scientific Research – FNRS (F.R.S.-FNRS), the research funding agency for basic scientific research in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium, is looking for a Project Officer with research programme and project management experience.
The Project Officer will carry out various tasks within the F.R.S.-FNRS European and international affairs Unit.
The Project Officer will be involved in
- FP7 National Contact Point tasks of F.R.S.-FNRS
- Management of F.R.S.-FNRS participation in ERA-Nets, ERA-Nets +, Joint Programming Initiatives, ESFRI projects, including joint transnational calls
- Development and implementation of F.R.S.-FNRS bilateral agreements with twins institutions in and outside Europe
- F.R.S.-FNRS representation in and collaboration with research organisations and institutions active at national, international and European level
Candidate's profile
- Master’s degree
- Experience in programme and project development and management, ideally in a European and/or international context
- Knowledge of the operation of the European Union Institutions as well as EU research policies
- Strong communication and networking skills
- Confident in interacting with senior policy makers and academics
- Fluent English and French speaker (both verbal and written), passive Dutch speaker (both verbal and written)
- Computer literate (word processor, spreadsheet, internet, email)
- Available for travel within Europe for conferences and meetings
Terms and conditions
The Project Officer will be based in Brussels at the F.R.S.-FNRS headquarters.
The fixed-term contract will begin ideally in September 2012 for one year. After this first year, the contract may become an unlimited contract.
This is a full-time position, and the candidate must have the right to work in Belgium. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's profile.
