South Africa - Examination Services Assitant

The British Council in South Africa is looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the post of 'Examinations Services Assitant'.

Context:
This post is one of a number within the BC South Africa Examinations Team. The posts are split between BC Johannesburg and BC Cape Town. All posts require generic administration skills to run examinations activities. Postholders should expect to administer examinations activities in any of the five products: IELTS, Professional, Educational, Schools & ESOL exams.

Job aim:
To support the Exams Officers in the delivery of examinations administration according to Examinations Quality Standards & exam board specifications.

Responsibilities:
The postholder will be accountable to the Examinations Officers, and through them to the Exams Manager, for the successful delivery of specific examinations’ administration and activities.

The postholder will be responsible for supporting the Examinations Officers with administration of specific examinations products within the BC South Africa product offer.

Specific duties will include:

Financial management

  • Income identification & parking of cash journals
  • Raising purchase orders for operational expenditure items
  • Helping Exams Officers with income reconciliation preparations

Activity and exams administration

  • Logistical planning (booking accommodation, venues, travel, examiners, invigilators etc)
  • Supporting examination activity and event implementation
  • Collecting & inputting scorecard data for exams activities
  • Compiling spreadsheets and inputting data entries

Ensuring that all examinations activities are consistent with key equal opportunities and diversity principles

General support, including e.g.:

  • Customer Service management
  • Telephone management
  • Manage delivery of exam sittings
  • Sending out exams related communications
