Organizational Setting |
The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA's ICT infrastructure comprises state-of-the art hardware and software platforms in a partially decentralized environment. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and Prince2 (Projects in a Controlled Environment) best practices. The Programme Management and Policy Section (PMPS) serves multiple roles. It coordinates information management (IM) and information technology (IT) governance across the Secretariat, provides information architecture services to the Secretariat and furthers the standardization and consolidation of the information landscape, coordinates the Division's project management methodology and documentation (based on PRINCE2), provides direct project management services to the Division, provides product management services for important IAEA-wide applications (e.g. the IAEA's extranet and intranet, and enterprise search), and creates, promulgates and maintains IT policy in consultation with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the IAEA-wide IM/IT Committee. |
Main purpose |
As a member of a team and reporting directly to the Section Head, the Business Analyst/Project Manager ensures a results-oriented response to MTIT's and the Secretariat's priorities as communicated by the Section Head and other MTIT management. The Business Analyst/Project Manager may be responsible for multiple cross-cutting projects simultaneously. |
Role |
The Business Analyst/Project Manager is: (1) a substantive specialist, performing business analysis and managing challenging projects; and (2) an adviser to the section head and other senior managers in the Secretariat (both within and outside of MTIT) on business process, risk, change and system implementation issues. |
Partnerships |
The Business Analyst/Project Manager interacts with, consults, and provides clear technical guidance to managers in all Departments in his/her role as a manager of cross-cutting projects. Stakeholders include IAEA staff from multiple departments and scientific, technical and regulatory users in Member States. |

Remuneration |
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $56 091 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $28 382*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave,pension plan and health insurance.
