Christian Aid Head of Asia and Middle East

The Head of Asia and Middle East is in charge of shaping, leading, developing and promoting the programme, emergency, advocacy, policy and campaign work of Christian Aid in the Asia and Middle East regions and also of co-ordinating and overseeing strategic alliances of the programme to reinforce Christian Aid's reputation as a highly relevant and trusted church-based international development agency.

We are looking for experience of managing large teams involved in complex corporate functions including short and long term strategy, planning, budgeting and developing communications messaging to meet complex corporate goals; experience of leading and managing change and cross organisational working; and considerable experience in development and up-to-date knowledge of best practice and debates in development, including gender approaches, capacity building, humanitarian and policy debates.

You should demonstrate ability to build good contacts with senior government officials and with development organisations, including church-based organisations. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in development or a relevant discipline with a good knowledge of development and poverty issues in relation to the Asia and/or Middle East regions.
