Distell Ltd, a leading producer of top quality wines, spirits, ciders and flavoured alcoholic beverages, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following key opportunities at our Corporate Gifting and Events Department, Marketing SA based in Gauteng, reporting to the National Sponsorship and Events Manager at Head Office, Stellenbosch, Techno Park.

Events Manager

Purpose of the Position: To be the leading authority in Event Management, creating aspirational and memorable consumer experiences that will engage consumers at point of consumption.

Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to: · Plan and manage event from conception through to staging and ensure that events deliver against set brand objectives · Liaise with various roleplayers, attend events for set-up/strike-off and facilitate the smooth execution of the event · Work closely with relevant brand teams on all event briefs and implementation and present post event evaluation/reports · Plan and arrange POS and ROI needed for events · Plan and co-ordinate all infrastructure including cold space (fridges) · Plan and co-ordinate Promotional Liquor orders for events · Develop and prepare annual event calendar, liaising with relevant brand teams · Arrange regular update meetings with Brand Managers · Ensure event contracts are in place · Present and conceptualise creative event ideas and opportunities · Event Budget Management – ensure that all cost estimates and invoices are processed.

The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience/skills: · Appropriate tertiary qualification: degree/diploma · 3-5 years’ events management experience · Decision-making and project management skills · Must be creative, innovative and self-driven · Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Basic SAP Knowledge) · Sound presentation skills and time management · People management skills and experience · Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels · Strong interpersonal skills · Good team player with the ability to build strong relationships and work in cross-functional levels · Willing to travel frequently and work after hours and weekends.
