HME Advisor (Mobile Maintenance)

IOC is a leading Canadian producer of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets serving customers worldwide. The Company operates a mine, concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities located in Sept-ÃŽles, in the Province of Quebec. It also operates a 418-kilometer railroad that links the mine to the port. Context
The purpose of mining operations is to safely and cost effectively deliver planned tonnages of ore to the concentrator for IOC to achieve its target for concentrate production. This requires the ore to be at targets for iron content, weight recovery and grind. The primary function of the mine maintenance team is to safely provide reliable HME equipment to the operations team to deliver these planned tons. To cost effectively achieve this goal, this role will provide support to the mobile maintenance supervisor to remove delays in work execution due to parts supply, technical information, data entry and to support defect elimination initiatives.
Accountabilities
Ensure parts and procedures are readily available to the maintainer to ensure timely execution of work assigned.
Review all submitted documentation for quality and enter into the CMMS as per asset management requirements to support data interrogation for continuous improvement activities.
Monitor maintenance activities to manage unused parts, ensuring they are returned to their respective storage locations.
Work with the maintainers and supervisors to conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) reviews and support continuous improvement by improving and updating SAP documents.
Work with stores to monitor consumable parts to maximize availability and minimize waste.
Support LEAN activities for 5S and QCO by working with the LEAN advisor and mine maintenance supervisors.
Ensure technical decisions on equipment maintenance support the business needs.

College/University Education

Mechanical or Electrical trades certificate or a minimum of 3 years related experience with the maintenance or
support of heavy mobile equipment (HME).


Other Qualifications


3 - 5 years' experience mechanical or electrical field in mining/manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of HME for mining (i.e. parts management, maintenance procedures)
Good knowledge of IOC's safety standards
Good knowledge of Rio Tinto asset management standard
Computer literacy (MS Office and SAP)


Licenses/Certifications


Qualified Tradesperson or Engineering degree.
