IT Business Analyst

The Fund wants to restrict access to its users by implementing a Roles Based Access Control (RBAC) security model. The Fund has the system in place to enforce RBAC roles, but needs to analyze the user population to identify the roles and appropriate access for each.

This position will work with the business users as well as the system owners to define Roles, the entitlements associated with the roles, the role management, identify opportunities to automate and synchronize information across multiple system, as well offer improvements to naming, descriptive information, and other aspects of roles and groups across the Fund. To wit, deliverables are:
  • The process for identifying Roles at the Fund, including the level of granularity.
  • The process for assigning entitlements (groups, access control lists, user classes, accounts, physical assets, etc.) to Roles
  • A complete list of all Roles within the Fund
  • The associated list of entitlements subscriptions to all Roles
  • The taxonomy of the roles
  • Groups that do not comply with - Groups must be named appropriately and group information is readily available so that staff is able to easily make correct decisions when assigning access,
  • Detailed Governance over group membership is enabled such that the right people are involved in approving and re-certifying membership of key groups,
  • A list of groups that should be automated by the following criteria - Membership of key groups is maintained through automation so that staff can use these groups with a high degree of confidence about the membership,
  • A list of groups that should be synchronized by the following criteria - Synchronization of key groups is enabled across the Fund's Document Management System, E-Mail and Active Directory Security to avoid mismatches and the confusion it causes for staff,
  • Extended use of group membership self-service and distributed group management by departmental staff where appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of using SQL Queries against a MS SQL Server Database to analyze data.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to gather and analyze a variety of information and to develop appropriate recommendations for action.
  • Ability to communicate, advise, persuade, and resolve issues that may be sensitive in nature.
  • Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with project stakeholders, collaborators, and staff at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education: MBA or related degree
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of business analyst experience, preferably in an international organization including identity/provisioning experience.
