Online Communications Manager

The Atlantic Council seeks a visionary entrepreneur to oversee the transition to a next generation website and to provide ongoing development and management of online communications thereafter for a dynamic and fast-paced Washington think tank. The Online Communications Manager will play a central role in shaping the Council’s online brand and presence.

The Council’s site at www.acus.org has seen a 35-fold increase since its relaunch three years ago and generates over 10 million annual pageviews. We envision the next iteration to expand our reach by more fully integrating live streaming, podcasting, social media, multiple blogs, and increased customization for our growing number of stakeholders and be optimized across platforms including computers, smart phones, and pad devices. The Manager will identify emerging technologies and ensure that the site remains on the cutting edge.

This person will spearhead an overhaul of the Atlantic Council website, and develop and execute an integrated online communications strategy that will go well beyond the redesign. The position will supervise a small but dedicated team which is responsible for the day-to-day management of content, minor design changes, web troubleshooting, and social media outreach. The position requires a deep understanding of the web design process, technical savvy, experience identifying and managing vendors, and a creative vision for the future of the Council’s online footprint.

The Council seeks an individual who understands and values the mission of the organization.
