Pan American Development Foundation Project Director

Project Director sought to lead innovative pilot program addressing issues of child labor in agriculture. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated capability to successfully direct donor-funded multi-component projects in an international setting, preferably in Central America, Proven ability to work across cultures, provide thought leadership as well as effective management and oversight, and engage with multiple stakeholders with differing interests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Minimum of five years professional experience in project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of cooperative agreement and contracts requirements (including meeting deadlines, achieving targets, and overseeing the preparation and submission of required reports). • Experience in a leadership role in implementing development projects relevant to this project, such as international children’s issues, labor issues, and company supply chain compliance programs. • General knowledge of data collection and project monitoring and evaluation. • Ability to establish and maintain systems for project operations, including the Performance Monitoring Plan required by USDOL and other monitoring and evaluation requirements. • Ability to maintain working relationships with all project stakeholders, including coalition building and partnership promotion. • Fluency in English and Spanish is required,

Roles and Responsibilities • Responsible for work plan development, technical design, impact measurement and evaluation, financial oversight and management overview of grants, subcontracts and technical consultants; • Serves as a technical resource and advisor, providing analyses of agricultural supply chains, child labor and sector trends relating to country of assignment to inform senior management and program managers of relevant factors that may affect the project; • Provide overall leadership and direction and guide the team and partners in defining and implementing all project activities to ensure achievement of outcomes and impact. • Directly supervise the work of the technical staff and the project management team to encourage innovation and technical excellence in meeting project goals, objectives, and indicators. • Provide strategic guidance on country-level buy-in from both the USDOL and the host government(s). • Serve as the chief project and technical representative to project country governments, corporate partners, donors, and other stakeholders. • Represent the organization at international meetings and events. • Manage partners to coordinate inputs and assure quality from all collaborators to ensure transparency, strong communication, and organizational and staff development. • Serve as supervisor and mentor to junior staff. Ensure that staff receive adequate training in the design, implementation, monitoring evaluation and reporting of agricultural supply chain programs and projects.
