Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

The Resource Development Department’s mission is to provide unrestricted funding to the TI-Secretariat, to assist its regional and other department’s efforts to raise programmatic funds and to offer fundraising technical support, advice, and training to TI National Chapters. We sit at the centre of the organisation, having strong relationships with all of the regional, thematic, research, communications and support teams. Main function:

The Resource Coordinator Bilateral and Multilateral Donors is responsible for programmatic and project fundraising from this donor target. It is estimated that 50% of the time will be spent on EC funding, and 50% on bilateral donors and other multilateral donors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position Resource Development Coordinator is a new position in the Resource Development Department, working closely with and reporting to the Resource Development Manager bilateral/multilateral donors. Focusing on bilateral donors (Foreign Ministries, Development Agencies and other) and multilateral donors, particularly the EC, the selected candidate will:

• Identify and research donor opportunities for TI Key Programmes, Projects contributing to Key Programmes, and other TI deliverables
• Support TI-S departments and Chapters’ fundraising and provide specialist expertise to help raise capacity and capability.
• Advise and assist TI colleagues on project design, proposal development, contract negotiations, and donor reporting
• Build specialist fundraising expertise within the TI movement through training and other means
• Working with Resources Manager to oversee TI engagement with bilateral and multilateral donors ensuring a strategic and coordinated approach
• Support the exchange of learning and expertise within a community of fundraising practice across TI-S and the Movement
• Oversee and coordinate TI-S funding relationship with the European Commission. Keep abreast of developments in EC funding (annual work programmes, funding priorities, contractual/financial rules and regulations, etc) and provide technical and specialist support to TI departments on EC funding; from project applications (including budgets), contract negotiations, contract management to reporting.
• Manage funding relationships with some to be determined particular bilateral donors.
• Contribute to other RDD deliverables.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• University degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in International Relations; European Studies; other Political, Economic or Social Science Disciplines; or other relevant fields
• Minimum five years experience in fundraising, proposal writing, contract negotiations, and donor reporting (including financials), with a focus on bilateral and multilateral donors.
• Proven work experience with and in-depth understanding of EC funding procedures, rules and regulations (including budgeting, reporting, etc). Prior experience with at least one DG is essential as the successful candidate is expected to advice on various DGs; Research & Innovation; Development and Cooperation (EuropeAid); Home Affairs
• Good understanding of programme design approaches (logical frameworks at minimum)
• Flexible, capable of working under pressure and against deadlines
• Excellent communication, impeccable presentation and strong networking skills
• Complete fluency in written and spoken English is essential; other European languages (particularly Spanish and/or French) are a definite asset.
