Oikocredit is in search of a Capacity Building (CB) Officer 
for Agriculture

Oikocredit is one of the world’s largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector. We also provide credit to fair trade organizations, cooperatives and other forms of small-to-medium social enterprises (SEs) in the developing world.

The financial resources exceed EURO 550 Million and come from investments by churches, institutions and individuals. Oikocredit has 8 regional offices, 28 country offices, the International Support Office in the Netherlands and approximately 219 staff members worldwide. 

There are at present 47 active partners in the Philippines that include 27 MFIs and cooperatives, 3 networks, 4 fair trades and 13 social enterprises benefiting over 3.5 million economically active poor Filipinos, the majority of whom are women.

The Capacity Building Officer for Agriculture 

The Capacity Building Officer for Agriculture will be a Filipino national and will be based at the country office in Quezon City. 

The Capacity Building Officer for Agriculture will help identify appropriate partners, determine the CB needs and ensure the proper and timely implementation of capacity building interventions support that are provided by Oikocredit to partner organizations that are engaged in agriculture – or agri-related activities. The CB support aims to upgrade their capability in reaching self-sustainability, scaling up the operations, achieving market leverage, reducing risks and if possible, improving their position as major players or actors in an agricultural value chain. 

This is a one-year contract. Renewal of the contract is subject to a positive review of performance and continuation of funding support for the program. 

Education and experience. 
- Bachelor/master’s degree in an agriculture-related field. Possession of a post graduate degree or professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Experience in conducting training needs analysis, training curriculum development or as technical assistance consultant or provider to agri projects for 3 years
- Experience in the conduct of research or project evaluation and/or impact assessment on agri- projects is an advantage
- Experience and/or strong affinity with development organizations
- Knowledge of socially responsible investing and investment products is desirable but not a must 
- Experience in management, operational or organizational audits would be a plus
