The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
To provide a range of reporting, analytical and planning activities to support QGC’s C&P function.

The Procurement Analyst will play a key support and advisory role to C&P management and personnel. This includes provision of quantitative and qualitative analysis of C&P activities, preparing reports and dashboards, creating and maintaining demand/category plans, and auditing/analysing existing contracts to identify leakages and non-conformances. The incumbent will also be responsible for analysis of existing processes and identifying and implementing improvements across all elements of the C&P process.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Preparation of timely and accurate management and ad hoc reports
• Developing and maintaining category/demand plans
• Analysis of spend data and developing recommendations
• Undertake market analysis in support of sourcing activities
• Undertake supply chain analysis to identify improvement opportunities and make appropriate recommendations to management
• Identify opportunities to improve compliance with C&P processes and to embed best practice, including the capture of spend (eg spend off contract, maverick spend, procurement card, etc)
• Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve the accuracy of data (eg cleansing and aligning systems data)
• Work with other Functional areas to identify P2P improvements including invoice duplication, overcharges, causes for mismatches and late payments to suppliers and participate in implementing resolutions/rectifications
• Undertake and/or project manage benchmarking studies and other activities as required
• Provide periodical and “on request” management reports and analysis to key stakeholders
• Report on trends, due diligence, and analysis activities as required
• Provide advice, training and guidance in the interpretation of reports
• Develop management tools to measure, quantify and monitor spend, C&P efficiency and process compliance, working with internal stakeholders within QGC and the wider BG Group to ensure requirements are fulfilled and best practice is achieved
• Undertake / coordinate governance activities for the C&P department including audits, reported savings, and compliance with C&P Standard
• Other activities, as required

People Management• The Procurement Analyst must adhere to the published reporting and Category Planning cycles, the HR cycle, and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Technical Experience• Solid experience with complex spreadsheets, ability to analyse data and provide reporting is essential.
• Experience with SAP (MM Module) is mandatory,
• Experience with SAP BW/BI (or similar tools) and MS Office suite of products is essential.
• Experience with contracts management systems and/or SAP SRM is preferred.
Experience
• Previous experience as analyst within a Contracts & Procurement/Supply Chain Management function is mandatory
• Experience in the resources or oil and gas sectors is desirable
• Experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced, complex environment is essential
 
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes• Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline

• Proven experience in making recommendations to management with regard to system and process improvements

Special Features
• Domestic and international travel (including travel to regional/remote sites) may be required.
