Web Design Internship

Summary
The IT Department at Search for Common Ground is seeking full-time and part-time interns with skills in HTML/CSS, Drupal and/or WordPress. The Web Interns will report to the Webmaster and assist in a variety of online marketing and communications projects, working with our field offices in 30 countries around the world. Through hands-on training, the Web Interns will learn strategy and tactics for web design & communication that can be broadly applied to the nonprofit sector and the Internet in general. The scope of each internship will be tailored to the intern’s strengths and experience, building on the individual’s skills. This is an unpaid internship with the option of earning college credit.

Responsibilities
SFCG Current Website (HTML/CSS)
  • Participate in web redesign and content analysis
  • Post page updates to the website
CMS Websites (Drupal & WordPress)
  • Assisting with theme customization
  • Assisting with module & plugin research & installation
  • Assisting with staff training to facilitate content input/updates on their end
As internship descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Solid Internet research skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMS (Drupal, WordPress)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Self-starter; organized; detail-oriented
  • Experience with browser-based email blast services are a plus, but not mandatory (ex: Constant Contact, Salsa, etc.)
