About ADPC
ADPC is a leading diaspora think tank in Europe devoted to stimulate informed policy dialogue and constructive debates between the diaspora and other stakeholders in the field of migration and development. The Centre generates knowledge and information that is primarily targeted at three groups: diaspora organizations , development practitioners and policymakers dealing with diaspora related issues, both in  host and home countries. Furthermore,  ADPC has been playing a catalyst role in strengthening strategic partnership building in development, competency and professional skills development of diaspora organizations active in the field of development cooperation. We achieve our goals by conducting evidence-based policy-relevant research; providing capacity building and training workshops; organizing expert meetings and conferences; facilitating contacts and networking relations; disseminating information through publications; and offering consultancy and information services.

Since January 2011 ADPC has co-managed a multi-year project initiated for the establishment of a European-wide African Diaspora Platform for Development (EADPD). The project is funded by the European Commission under the Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries in the areas of Migration and Asylum. ADPC is a member of consortium for the EADPD project and works closely with key African diaspora foundations and organizations operating in several countries in Europe. The project will end in December 2013.
For the finalisation of this project, ADPC is looking for a project officer with proven research abilities and networking-building experience.
Key responsibilities:
-          Coordinate the networking activities in different countries in Europe
-          Conduct action-oriented research in a number of countries in Europe
-          Participate in partner meetings
-          Communicate and liaise with consortium partners operating in other EU countries
-          Manage the administrative and budgeting requirements of the project    
-          Write donor reports
-          Develop and draft follow up proposals
Required skills and experience:
-          Academic qualification in social sciences – masters degree in development studies; migration and development and political economy – preferably with experience in the development in Africa
-          Proven relevant academic, action oriented and field research experience as well as experience with different research methodologies
-          Data collection experience both quantitative and qualitative research
-          Experience in preparing publications, documents, reports and communication materials for a wider distribution
-          Strong analytical and planning skills
-          Experience in international research coordination
-          Proven writing and editing skills and high level communication skills
-          Fluent in English and French
-          Affinity with the African diaspora and with development related issues regarding Africa
-          Five years of experience in project management, including finance and fundraising and planning, monitoring and evaluation.
-          Outstanding organization and communication skills within cross cultural environments
-          Capable to work in an international team
