Department

BBC London is one of the most watched TV news programmes in the UK, with audiences for our flagship 6.30pm programme regularly topping a million. There is always a full-on news agenda for the programme, with the wide range of home affairs, security, health and education stories you would expect in the largest and most vibrant city in Europe. We have built a reputation for uncovering important stories ahead of the national media, with a dedicated investigations team supporting our daily output at New Broadcasting House, the new home of BBC News in the capital.

Role

We are looking for a Broadcast Journalist to work on investigations for BBC London News, and its current affairs programme Inside Out, alongside our senior investigations producer.

Requirements

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
·         A clear determination to editorially master difficult subject matter and challenging stories.
·         The determination and persuasiveness to make these stories work for our programme.
·         A good knowledge of the techniques used for investigation journalism, from web-based and data research to setting up secret filming
·         A thorough understanding of media law and the BBC’s editorial guidelines.
·         Experience in TV production. Filming and editing skills would also be an advantage.
