Your role forms part of a small finance team which sits within a wider Strategy team and we advise the BBC Trust on a broad range of strategic issues facing the BBC. Our finance team concentrates on providing strategic financial advice and on assessment of value for money across the BBC.

Role

As a Finance & Strategy Adviser, you'll manage a continuing programme of value for money reviews on behalf of the Trustees. You’ll also offer advice on significant investment proposals which require Trust approval, the BBC budget and financial plans, risk management and a range of ad hoc compliance issues including some TV licensing complaint appeals from the public. The role requires the confidence and authority to engage in debate at senior levels on strategically sensitive issues.

Requirements

We need you to be financially literate, either through an accountancy qualification or through demonstrable relevant experience. You'll have extensive experience of writing briefings to tight deadlines and ideally some experience of writing reports to a standard which is suitable for external publication. You'll be able to demonstrate the ability to analyse inherently complex or technical issues and report your conclusions in a clear, concise and accessible way.
