Information Technology Specialist , Timor-Leste


Full time contract, initially until 30 June 2013, with extension until 30 June 2014 • Providing project IT management and support services in Timor-Leste • Based in Dili, Timor-Leste • Competitive remuneration package Global Justice Solutions (GJS) is a part of the Coffey group and specialises in international consultancy and project management focusing exclusively the police, justice and security sector and its interfaces with communities, governments and non government agencies.
GJS supports the implementation of the Timor-Leste Police Development Program (TLPDP). Our team works collaboratively with the Australian Federal Police, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste (GDRTL), the Policia Nacional De Timor-Leste (PNTL), civil society representatives and other stakeholders to support the achievement of the Program objectives. We are currently seeking an experienced IT Specialist to support an existing program in Timor-Leste. The Position The IT Specialist will be responsible for the hands-on management and administration of the AFP internal systems deployed in Dili, providing overall specialist IT support and services to TLPDP Advisers and to the Program overall to ensure that the network functions effectively. This position provides the opportunity to work across a range of levels from overall management and oversight of the network to day to day trouble shooting and maintenance of systems. The IT Specialist will also provide technical advice and coaching to counterparts within the Timor-Leste police service in relation to ICT matters, as required. For success in this position applicants will be tertiary qualified and will need to demonstrate experience in providing reliable and secure IT services in a resource constrained environment; combined with the ability to develop positive professional relationships with stakeholders and provide strong client service delivery. Applicants will need to demonstrate capacity in the following: • implementing and managing all aspects of Local Area Networks. • designing, implementing and managing Microsoft Active Directory client-server environments; and • excellent understanding of IP network protocols and services. Previous experience procuring equipment and services and exposure to a Policing environment will be well regarded. An Australian Federal Police Security Clearance may be required
