Job TitleGrants Manager-Babati STF 
Reports to: Chief of Party
Location: Head Office.
Purpose of the Position
To provide management, guidance and technical support in Babati STF grant financial management, reporting and budget proposal writing.

Major Responsibilities
1. Ensure grants financial management in compliance with grant terms, conditions, and donor requirements
2. Facilitate capacity building in grants financial management for finance and Program staff.
3. Participate in the preparation and reviewing of the annual operation plan of grants division, grants
budget proposals and ensure timely submission of Labor Distribution Report, monthly, quarterly and 
donor reports
4. Monitor budget utilization and ensure timely funding of grant projects and provide technical support to concerned stakeholders accordingly
5.Engage and interact with donors / support offices, divisions, POs and ADPs on grants financial & budget related activities
6.Plan and facilitate grants financial audit and ensure implementation of audit recommendations
7. Engage in and ensure that appropriate tools like Coaching for Performance (CFP) and mentoring, etc are practiced within the department to enhance smooth staff relations and accountability;
8. Provide technical support to POs and ADPs in grant projects financial management


Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
· Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting 
· Experience: 4 - 7 yrs/3 yrs in Manager level
· Preferred: MBA, ACCA, CPA related fields
· Technical Skills & Abilities:
Excellent computer skills in Excel & Sun-systems software.
Demonstrated ability in supervision
Experience in managing donor funds
Working knowledge of grants operations, finance services and practices is an added advantage.
Good planning and organizational skills
Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff-related to work environment needs
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public 
Grant Certification is a must.

Job TitleAgricultural Specialist-Babati STF 
Reports to: Chief of Party
Location: Northern Zone.
Purpose of the Position
To provide agricultural technical assistance to the Babati STF project in World Vision Tanzania. Work with ADP field staff and Agricultural Development Facilitators to achieve the results of the agricultural component of the project and ensure integration with the ADP agricultural activities.

Major Responsibilities
1. Assist ADP Managers and Project Director in the selection of appropriate target populations to be the recipients of agricultural technical support.
2. Work closely with the Government of Tanzania, Department of Agriculture personnel and Project Management in the design of appropriate strategies for target population in accordance with the project plans
3. Visit target communities on a regular basis to learn with farmers on farming practices and experiences and continuously incorporate into the project planning such lessons.
4. Train field staff and farmers on sustainable agricultural practices relevant to the increased productivity of the selected value chains for the target communities. This includes designing appropriate training materials for use by farmers and other related groups
5. Provide follow-up support through agricultural clinics for recipients of technical support 
6. Assist in the production of regular and timely progress reports regarding relevant project activities.
7. Participate in planning sessions and in the development of long-term agricultural program strategies for the entire WVT office
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.
· Minimum qualifications: Must have a university degree in Agriculture, preferably agronomy. 

  • · At least two years experience working with agricultural production and development, preferably with a reputable NGO or Government programme or project.
  • · Demonstrated ability in the design and effective use of training materials.
  • · Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • · Willingness to travel extensively especially within the project area.

· Job TitleNatural Resource Management(NRM) Facilitators(2)
· Reports to: NRM Specialist
· Location: Babati Cluster.
Purpose of the Position
To provide technical assistance in natural resource management and associated agriculture practices at the field level, working closely with farmers and relevant ADP staff.

Major Responsibilities
1. Assist NRM specialist and relevant ADP staff in the selection of appropriate target populations to be the recipients of agricultural technical support.
2. Work closely with the Government Agricultural Extension officers, ADP staff and Project Agricultural and Natural Resource Management Specialists in the design of appropriate strategies for targeted population 
3. Visit target communities on a regular basis to learn with farmers on farming practices and experiences and continuously incorporate into the project planning such lessons.
4. Assist Agricultural and Natural Resource Management Specialist organise and facilitate training for farmers on sustainable agricultural practices relevant to the increased production of food for the target communities.

  • · Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • · Sound knowledge of Kiswahili an added advantage.
  • · Willingness to travel extensively especially within the project area.

· Job TitleWealth Creation Research Officer
· Reports to: EAR CC LC Advisor
· Location: Arusha
Purpose of the Position
This position will be responsible for designing and implementing a collection of data and literature related to wealth generation and social issues resulting from that success
Major Responsibilities
1. Literature review
· Prepare a paper on Tanzanian (specific tribal groups) attitudes to money and wealth generation and distribution
· Prepare a paper on formal and informal social norms in the research locations. This should include how norms are being undermined.
2. Survey design 
· Prepare survey instruments according to the key research questions outlined in the project design document and findings from literature review
· Prepare rationale for sampling (eg purposive vs random, adults vs children, etc), why certain instruments will be best with certain groups etc
· Ensure coordination with, and input from, key stakeholders and advisors, viz:
MLAP Secretariat and WVT Operations Division
Religious leaders and government officials from research locations
Christian Commitment staff from WVT and EARO
· Initiate link to, and get advice from, academic institution/s
· Ensure instruments are checked by WVT Quality Assurance department
3. Survey implementation
· Prepare Terms Of Reference (TOR) for survey implementation 
· Determine logistics for data collection, particularly coordinating with ADP managers and special project managers 
· Organise training for data collectors
· Prepare a budget and manage expenses for data collection
4. Survey analysis and reports
· Prepare report format for approval
· Analyse data and organise narrative, tabular and visual means of recording and reporting the findings
· Prepare range of reports for stakeholders:
Comprehensive report with full documentation and appendices
Summary report of all findings
Highlight reports/presentations for MLAP secretariat, religious leaders and CC
5. Communication of findings
· Where there is opportunity to present at forums and conferences, development sector and tertiary institutions and/or publish findings
· Organise and store all documents in retrievable filing for key stakeholders ie EARO CC Learning Centre, WVT senior management, WVT CC team, WVAustralia
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.
Minimum Qualifications:Degree in social science discipline eg Anthropology or Sociology, preferably a Masters degree
Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the international development sector, its history, diversity and theories


  • Conducted research through surveys
  • Has written research essays or documents
  • Work in the development sector with application of research to practice
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Proven experience in leadership and programme design, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Proven experience in creating and monitoring budgets and fulfilling reporting and administrative duties in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to communicate and write in English and Kiswahili is required.
