BBC London is one of the most watched TV news programmes in the UK, with audiences for our flagship 6.30pm programme regularly topping a million. There is always a full-on news agenda for the programme, with the wide range of home affairs, security, health and education stories you would expect in the largest and most vibrant city in Europe. We have built a reputation for uncovering important stories ahead of the national media, with a dedicated investigations team supporting our daily output. We are based in New Broadcasting House, the new home of BBC News in the capital.

Role

We are looking for one Senior Broadcast Journalist Reporter on a nine month contract/attachment and one Senior Broadcast Journalist Reporter/Presenter on a four month contract/ attachment.

Requirements

In both cases we are looking for someone who can
·         Handle a wide news agenda with good editorial judgement and legal knowledge.
·         Confidently and creatively package to tight deadlines.
·         Demonstrate strong live reporting skills
·         Have a track record in developing and working on their own stories.
·         Preferably be able to shoot and edit their own packages when needed.
For the post which includes presenting we will also be looking for:
·         Experience of presenting a live news programme.
·         Ability to connect with a BBC London audience.
