The Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) will mark the start of the final countdown to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. The Queen’s Baton Relay will raise the profile and awareness of the Commonwealth Games and will serve to connect the BBC’s UK and Global audiences to the games and culturally. The relay will convey the diversity and vibrancy of the Commonwealth along with the hopes and ambitions of its people. The BBC will cover the Queen’s Baton Relay as it makes its way around the Commonwealth. We are looking for an experienced Senior Content Producer to drive the BBC’s QBR New Media content.
You will be responsible for managing a small team to produce online content which not only complements, but adds to broadcast output. The role will demand close collaboration with both the BBC’s Editor and the Producer of the Queen’s Baton Relay and also with the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee. Senior Content Producers in BBC Scotland New Media, Learning and Outreach play a central role in the development and production, on schedule and to budget, of brilliant content. They have day to day editorial and managerial responsibility for teams - assigning & supervising work whilst ensuring it's the best it can be. Working closely with the Executive Producer, they play a key role in planning and scheduling, line managing & developing staff and ensuring the content they're responsible for is joined up with output from the rest of the department.
