Role Overview
This role is offered as a 2year Fixed Term Contract, working 3days (24hours) a week.
The EBRD Technical Cooperation Funds Programme is a key instrument in the Bank's strategy for assisting the transition process in countries of operation. Grant funds provided by donor governments are used by the Bank to provide institution building and skills transfer within the context of investment operations in private and public sector projects.
The purpose of the Donor Co-Financing (DCF) department is to promote strong partnerships between the EBRD and external donor organisations providing grant or concessional co-financing resources. This is achieved through structured strategic alignment between the donor community and the Bank and active engagement with partners of the Bank. Responsibilities of the department include:
- Liaising with the Bank's bilateral donors and working to build new donor partnerships and innovative donor funded products that meet the Bank's strategic needs;
- Maintaining the Bank's multi-donor funds and ensure predictability both of funding and pipeline development aligned to strategic priorities;
- Maintaining the Bank's engagement in multilateral facilities such as the EU regional facilities and global funds;
- Managing implementation of the Shareholder Special Fund Work Plan.
The Admin assistant will be located in the Multilateral Pillar of the Donor Co-financing department. This pillar manage the department's work with multilateral facilities such as the EU regional facilities, as well as global funds such as the Climate Investment Funds, the Global Environment Facility, the Green Climate Fund, the MENA Transition Fund as well as funds for climate change adaptation, with the aim to position the EBRD as a lead agency for product quality and delivery, to secure funding for strategic projects, and to maximise the impact of the Bank's policy orientations in the strategic areas covered by those funds and facilities.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
  • Leading on travel and expenses for the Multilateral Pillar
  • Pipeline management, data entry and analysis for specific funds in climate and environment, in particular CIF, in partnership with relevant staff members in the team and externally (e.g. other teams and the funds' secretariats and trustees);
  • Assisting the team in updating the agreements pipeline for the EU projects (NIF and IFCA), including up-keeping of EU (NIF/IFCA) excel spread sheet;
  • Working on a pipeline system for EU regional facilities (outside NIF and IFCA);
  • Management system for all EU related emails / communications between the teams and using this information to update the Excel; keep up-dated comments section;
  • Requesting reports from EBRD teams and producing standard letters to accompany reports;
  • Assisting the team in sending out agreements to other Donors (scanning, copying, DHL);
  • Assisting in all logistical work associated with EU / multilateral funds (e.g. for ad hoc seminars);
  • Updating OCU timeline with EU activities;
  • Offer ad-hoc assistance for admin tasks to others in the team as required.
