Officer, TeachUNICEF Website and Social Media

Officer, TeachUNICEF Website and Social Media (Part-Time – 15 hours per week)
TeachUNICEF provides educators with global learning resources for grades PreK-12. Reporting to the Director of Education, the TeachUNICEF Website and Social Media Officer helps to improve the dynamism of TeachUNICEF.org by formulating website strategy and managing digital content, and conducting social media outreach that increases visibility of TeachUNICEF. This is a grant-funded, part-time position.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
•Updating TeachUNICEF.org by posting new print and multi-media resources and removing outdated resources
•Organizing content and information on TeachUNICEF.org to maximize efficiency and ease of use
•Working with USF staff and web consultants to conceive and execute website enhancements that improve functionality
•Devising and implementing a strategy for maximizing website traffic
•Promoting TeachUNICEF.org with both internal and external constituents
•Working with USF staff to devise and implement a social media strategy for TeachUNICEF that draws new educators to TeachUNICEF.org and engages them with USF’s work
•Supporting the development of the TeachUNICEF eNewsletter on a monthly basis
•Increasing the number of visitors, page views, and resource downloads on TeachUNICEF.org and the engagement of followers on TeachUNICEF’s social media properties
•Analyzing and reporting on website and social media metrics periodically, and making recommendations on future strategy
•Performing other assignments as needed
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
•Knowledge of and experience with web production and CMS tools (Drupal preferred)
•Knowledge of HTML and CSS – or a willingness to learn – desired (but not required)
•Knowledge and usage of social media platforms and how they can be deployed to maximize audience
•Strong interest in keeping up with the latest in web standards, best practices and technology, and emerging methods of digital communication
•Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
•Experience in communication with educator audiences desirable (but not required)
•Basic knowledge of international development issues and non-profit organizations desirable (but not required)
