You should be a self starter who is geologically curious and takes considerable pride in the quality and rigour of your technical work. The ability to think innovatively and drive original thinking in your integrated geological interpretation will ensure that you influence peers and the direction of your subsurface projects.
Key Accountabilities
• Build fundamental geological understanding at the mega-scale across the conjugate margin, at the basinal scale and at the block scale. The ability to search out and integrate public domain information and published research and studies will significantly contribute to your regional understanding.
• A robust understanding of petroleum systems modelling to regional/basinal understanding is recommended.
• Perform volumetric analysis at lead, prospect, and play levels and quantity the key subsurface uncertainties to understand and describe exploration risk
• Produce prospect specific maps for quantifying key reservoir parameters based upon robust integrated geological understanding
• Liaise with well engineering (when required) during well planning and execution. You will contribute to all phases of planning, delivery and evaluation of well operations including preparation of geotechnical documents, data gathering, daily reporting and post-well studies and analyses. This will certainly be key in our operated blocks team as we have a seven well commitment.
• Applies geological expertise and professional judgment in leading and delivering assigned projects and presents completed analysis and recommendations at Peer Reviews, Peer Assists and Functional Reviews as part of the BG Group Value Assurance Framework. May act as a peer reviewer for other projects.

• Ensures all own evaluations are documented and related geological data (both petrotechnical and physical) is handled in accordance with BG’s Data Management Standards.
• Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all employees are accountable for ensuring that they take care of themselves and adopt exemplary safe behaviours.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

Experience needed:
• This will require experience of a variety of geological settings (depositional and structural), plays and basins with exposure to regional and new venture evaluations, prospect generation and evaluation and/or well operations planning and delivery. Our geology covers the spectrum from pre-salt carbonates to clastic stratigraphic traps.
• We are looking for 'geoscientist'-type geologists that are able to integrate both well and seismic data (although you are not expected to be a expert in seismic interpretation).
• Expert user of core geological interpretations software (Geoframe/Petrel/ Genesis /Trinity/GeoX)
• Has awareness of other subsurface disciplines.
• May have experience of building effective networks with contractors and external R&D bodies.
• Operator experience would be an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
