Research Volunteer - Philanthropy and Partnerships Team
Salary:Reasonable travel & lunch expenses paid
Contract:2/3 days per week (Day worked negotiable) for 6 months
Location:London
Closing date:October 10th 2013
If you are interested in developing an understanding of major donor fundraising at an international NGO and want to gain some hands on experience while developing fundraising and research skills, here’s a great opportunity to do just that with ActionAid.
This volunteer opportunity will support a successful and ambitious fundraising team in our mission to engage major donors with ActionAid’s work and inspire them to provide committed support to the organisation.
The Philanthropy and Partnerships Team has ambitious plans to triple our income by 2017, which you will support by researching current and prospective major donors, trusts and foundations and companies. You will prepare research profiles and briefings, support event activities and help with general admin tasks, as well as input information into our database.
As well as having strong research and analytical skills, you will be able to present information clearly and accurately and be comfortable working to tight deadlines. Able to work on your own initiative, you will be highly organised, have a 'can-do' attitude and well developed PC skills.
In return, you will be fully trained and supported and welcomed as an active member of the team, attending team meetings and staff briefings where you can learn more about ActionAid, international development and major donor fundraising.
We expect our volunteers to support our aim of building a fair and just world where everyone can claim their rights. If you feel that you fit our criteria, please submit an application and you can look forward to a thoroughly rewarding experience that will stand out on your CV.
