Research Fellow in Electric Vehicle Energy Storage, Optimisation and Control

£30,091 to £33,539 per annum – fixed term for 36 months
You will be working on an exciting new electric vehicle project which is funded by the Technology Strategy Board, and is being undertaken in partnership with partners from the automotive industry, the battery industry, and another leading university.  The project will involve the development of advanced control algorithms for the real-time optimisation of a novel electric vehicle battery system. You will be expected to contribute to the design, development and prototype bench demonstrator of the system, and to work closely with our industrial and research partners. You will also be expected to help mentor PhD and MSc students working in the group.
You must hold a PhD (or close to completion) in a relevant engineering discipline, have prior experience of control development, and have prior experience of hybrid or electric vehicle architecture.
This post is available immediately and offered on a three-year fixed-term basis, reflecting the duration of the project.
