Position Summary
Finance is integral to everything we do at BG Group; be it analysing project fundamentals or looking at potential mergers and acquisitions or just regular accounting, everything you do will play an important part in supporting business decisions made across multiple levels within the company.

As well as developing core financial skills you will learn about strategy, economics, market fundamentals, mergers, acquisitions and disposals or investor relations. This programme gives the chance to work in real, situations and assume a level of responsibility from the start. On each assignment, you will be working alongside experienced finance professionals and may be based in any of the countries that we operate in. With at least one guaranteed international placement, the IGDP will be the start of your international career with BG Group.

Key Accountabilities
You will acquire the necessary skills, experience and behaviours to ensure you have a successful, international career with BG Group. The areas of finance in which you can expect to experience placements include:

• Working in one or more of our Group Audit, Treasury, Risk and Taxation teams
• Reporting, forecasting and planning at country and group levels
• Cost control and recovery
• Learning about strategy, economics, market fundamentals, mergers, acquisitions and disposals or investor relations

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Minimum qualification: 2:1 Bachelors Degree
Preferred qualification: Masters Degree or Equivalent 
Subjects: Finance, Maths, Business, Economics 

Just as important as your academic qualifications are the personal, professional and business skills you are required to demonstrate and develop the following skills qualities and attributes;

• You will need to exhibit strong collaborative behaviours and the confidence to lead cross-functional teams to drive the best business outcomes for BG.
• You will need to demonstrate commercial edge, and at the same time, a strong ethical awareness. 
• You will need to be highly organised, managing a challenging workload and employing an analytical approach.
• You will need a keen eye for detail and must be comfortable writing reports and giving presentations. 
• Fluency in English is a must; given that we are a global business a second or third language is highly desirable.

Since at least one or more of your placements will be based overseas, you must be prepared to live and work away from home for extended periods. You must also have the confidence, influence, and cultural sensitivity to make the most of this opportunity. You are expected to build internal and external networks amongst peers and BG colleagues across functions and countries.
