Programme Policy Manager
Salary:£44,320
Contract:Permanent

At ActionAid we've created fantastic career opportunities for experienced sector professionals who want to be part of an organisation that is delivering a bold strategy to provide sustained improvements to the poorest and most excluded people in the world. Join our action to end poverty now and be part of something truly amazing.
In this newly created role of Programme Policy Manager you will establish and lead a Programmes Policy Unit to ensure our policy and research work is formed by the experiences and demands of the communities we work with.
In addition to managing the policy analysis and research agenda, we will look to you to use the knowledge base across ActionAid International to identify constraints in UK and global policy that hinder the creation of equitable and sustainable development.
You will work to shape and implement advocacy strategies as well as working to ensure our policy agenda presents ActionAid as a credible and influential voice in public and private debates.
Able to demonstrate extensive experience in policy analysis and research, you will also have good knowledge of development issues, including power relations, and factors that drive poverty and inequality across the world. You will have worked on shared advocacy and research projects, effectively lobbied civil servants and government officials and gained an understanding of UK policy institutions.
You are comfortable acting as a spokesperson. You have well developed communication and facilitation skills and are effective at sharing information to audiences at all levels.
