The Smart Campaign is a global campaign committed to embedding client protection practices into the institutional culture and operations of the microfinance industry. It works with microfinance leaders from around the world to provide MFIs with the tools and resources they need to deliver transparent, respectful, and prudent financial services to all clients.

Background
In order to better understand the realities, concerns, and experiences of the clients and individuals for whom the entire client protection architecture is built – the Campaign will launch a client voice market research and learning project.
About the Job: 
The Smart Campaign is seeking a Project Manager - Client Voice Project. S/he will be responsible for a portfolio of at least two market research studies. The market selection is ongoing but at least one country will be in South Asia.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure project adherence in the field to general research design driven by the principal investigator including sample selection, instrument design, data management and analysis, and overall project management:
    • Create quality control measures in market research implementation;
    • Manage relationships and deliverables with data collection firm(s);
    • Travel to the project sites at the inception of data collection for piloting of survey instruments and training of enumerators.
  • Keep principal investigator and Smart Campaign secretariat appraised of project developments;
  • Oversee financial management of data collection efforts and contracts with data-collection providers, including creation and monitoring of program budgets, and ensuring timely reports;
  • Promote learning across the project market research studies and take lead in sharing and documenting best practices;
  • Lead in data coding and analysis under direction of the principal investigator;
  • Contribute to country-level publications for two countries in concert with principal investigator and the Smart Campaign team.

Qualifications: 
  • BA or Masters or in Economics, Social Science, Public Policy or a related field;
  • At least 2 years of project management experience;
  • Experience supervising data collection, teams of field workers, and survey instrument and design and implementation;
  • Strong analytical skills, experience with data management, and experience with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS or CS Pro;
  • Willingness to travel and often for several weeks at a time;
  • Fluency in English with strong oral, written, and communication skills,knowledge of additional languages will be helpful;
  • Experience managing projects and multi-disciplinary teams, track record of good relationship management skills, and ability to work independently;
  • Orientation to microfinance and financial inclusion issues helpful.
