About the Organization: 
VisionFund is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision (WV). VisionFund International (VFI) works in partnership with WV and helps to improve the lives of children in the developing world by offering small loans and other financial services to families living in poverty.
About the Job: 
VFI is seeking a Global Director of Fundraising. S/he will develop and lead fundraising for the organization. S/he will establish a new strategy to raise substantial diversified income to support the growing work of organization from dedicated fundraisers and a specialist grants capacity. This position is based in London.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Fundraising:
    • Develop and implement a successful strategic plan to raise substantial donor funds(USD 44 million in first 3 years) to support the work of organization;
    • Support WVUS in their major donor, corporate, foundation fundraising;
    • Lead development of new fundraising capabilities and teams within support offices to raise major donor, foundation, and where sensible, corporate funds for organization's work. Once formed, support fundraising within these newly developed support offices;
    • Develop and manage a new fundraising structure outside support offices where sensible (eg: Singapore, UK);
    • Raise USD 21 million in items 2 and 3 above;
    • Establish and develop a specialist global grant fundraising capacity to solicit and maximize grant income from multinational donors such as CIDA, SIDA, DifD, etc. Raise USD 13 million in the first 3 years;
    • Work in partnership with the global director of marketing and communications to align activities and training to enable targets achieved.
  • People management:
    • Create, sustain, and motivate an effective, specialist global fundraising team;
    • Develop leaders within group through clearly thought out programs and staff coached to success.
Qualifications: 
  • University Marketing degree or formal sales training;
  • Minimum of 10 years in corporate sales and marketing services environment dealing with senior executives. Preferably experience in financial institutions. Alternatively a solid NGO fundraising background;
  • Solid verbal and written communication;
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and projects with flexibility on hours to contact people within wide timezone differences;
  • Must be cross culturally sensitive as will work with associates from every area of the world;
  • Travel will be required up to 30% and personal appearances with donors and partners will be required both in WV support office countries and overseas MFI countries.
