WWF-Greater Mekong, Energy Officer

The Greater Mekong region is one of the biologically richest places on the planet; its varied natural resources support the livelihoods and well-being of millions of people in mainland Southeast Asia. WWF-Greater Mekong (GM) – on the ground in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam – is working to conserve the region’s biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife.
 
WWF-Greater Mekong is seeking an experienced and motivated Energy Officer to support the development and promotion of the Power Sector Vision in the region. This includes the improvement of power sector planning and development in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) through a multi-stakeholder participatory planning process (PDPs) and to launch and disseminate a full technical report on sustainable energy and build public sector capacity. The position will also strengthen coordination with the private sector by identifying and approaching companies that may support and promote WWF’s power sector vision.
 
Base location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Key requirements:
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in conservation, natural resource management, wildlife management, or similar.
  • Coordination, Report writing, Presentation, Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Strong team player with ability to work in virtual teams, under tight deadlines with limited supervision, and willing/able to travel frequently.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in a regional language (Burmese, Lao, Khmer, Thai, Vietnamese) is an asset.
