We are looking to fill the position of HR Manager for Sandvik UK coupled with HR Business Partner for one of our product companies in the UK and South Africa. This is a key role within HR with wide scope and international responsibilities.
Key performance areas
Based at the UK Headquarters, as HR Manager for Sandvik UK you act as the local representative of Global HR, managing the country/region in specific HR projects and activities. You are responsible for securing the right level of HR competence in the country to support the business, and work with all components of HR to ensure appropriate support for the country, initiating corrective action/escalation where required. Together with other Country/Region HR Managers, you establish best HR practices and synergies, ensuring compliance with Group policies, local laws and regulations. You play a key role in determining appropriate local UK HR policies to satisfy business needs and local conditions/requirements. Application, enforcement and development of these policies forms part of the role, together with overseeing the management of industrial relations within the country and maintaining good working relationships with the European Works Council. You are also responsible for coordination and implementation of all country level HR initiatives: for example, annual salary review, employer branding and employee attitude surveys. This position also has an important role in overseeing the management of health and safety, particularly within the UK Head Office but also in coordination with all other UK locations.
As HR Business Partner for Sandvik Coromant you are responsible for enhancing organizational performance and the business from an HR perspective. This includes supporting strategic initiatives, contributing to setting the roadmap for the future and creating synergies with other Sandvik entities. Furthermore, you are responsible for Performance Management, Talent and Succession Management, Diversity and Inclusion, and HR Controlling. You also support managers when implementing change initiatives by offering both expertise and tools. In all your work, you ensure compliance with global policies and take full ownership of the HR delivery model and maintain continual dialogue and close cooperation with HR Services, in order to ensure that the business receives high quality service.
This position includes traveling and requires the ability to work effectively within and report to a matrix organization.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant degree and Chartered CIPD status, or the equivalent. CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) is the professional body for senior HR practitioners. Membership is through post-graduate level qualifications set and monitored by the CIPD. We expect you to have at least Chartered level membership, or an equivalent degree/membership from another country. You also have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in several different HR processes. You have good skills in English, in both writing and speaking.
