Project Manager - Assets
Kilombero Sugar Company, the largest producer of sugar in Tanzania, is inviting a dynamic and result oriented person to fill the above vacancy existing in the Company. The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective implementation of all capital and strategic abnormal maintenance projects as required by the three factories on the estate. (Two Sugar Mills and One Alcohol Distillery
Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the management of the factory
project section and drawing office.
Delivery of factory capital and abnormal projects from concept to construction through to final handover ensuring that the projects meet the quality, budget and schedule objectives.
Compliance with the group capital application and
management policies and procedures.
Engagement with section engineers and external stakeholders to deliver sound engineering designs in compliance with group and relevant national and international standards.
Ensuring that all projects are executed in compliance with the relevant governing engineering and construction codes.
Adherence to the plant modification procedure and documentation process for all projects.
Planning, leading and controlling of drawing office.
Recruitment and development of project section staff in line with company's requirement.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
B.Sc. (or equivalent) in Mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
At least five years' work experience in a similar position in the sugar industry.
Computer literate in MS Office (advanced Excel; intermediate Word ; PowerPoint; intermediate MS Projects).
Advanced CAD qualification .. will be advantageous.
High focus and proven track record in safety.
The ability to effectively lead ,manage and develop people to ensure that departmental KPl's are achieved is a prerequisite.,
Design and fabrication experience especially on piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, steel structures, conveyors.
With sound knowledge of statutory requirements, welding techniques and fabrication procedures.
Experience in FIDIC contract management will be advantageous. .
Physical Health and Attitude:
Sound mental and physical health.
People and team orientated with an innate ability to transfer skill and professional acumen to team members.
Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels in the business.
Conscientious, effective and efficient.
Motivated, energetic and ready to work long hours to add value to the overall department and business.
TERMS OF SERVICE:
The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the Factory
Services Manager, will be engaged on permanent contract.
