Parts Sales Manager
The role
The Parts Sales Manager is responsible for driving direct sales all parts for both underground and surface Sandvik machines within the Southern African region. A key task is to establish an effective sales organization within the operational units with the objective of increasing direct sales business. Key outputs will be improved market share, improved profitability and increased effectiveness and reduced turn-over of parts sales representatives.
Key Performance Areas
  • Responsible for all direct parts sales revenue and profit.
  • Development and implementation of direct sales strategy, budgets and forecasts.
  • Functional management of the PSSRs (parts sales & service reps) within the business units.
  • Setting of direct sales targets and incentives for PSSRs and measurement and sign-off of achieved levels.
  • Interaction with CSC (Customer Support Centre) to ensure proper processes are followed with respect to direct parts sales.
  • Maintain pricing and proposal integrity through close collaboration with Parts organisation and adhering to approvals processes.
  • Drive the growth of direct parts sales through eBusiness channels.
  • Negotiation of parts supply agreements, according to company guidelines.
  • Accountability for the stock and stock performance in all direct-sale stock rooms.
  • Accountable for the proper and appropriate implementation of SHEQ principles on any and all direct sale stock sites.
Your profile
  • Matric qualification (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
  • Business management qualification
  • Related successful leadership experience in a managerial role
  • 3-5 years experience as sales representative in a mechanical environment
  • Proven experience of Customer Relationship Management & value adding selling
  • Ability to solve problems, meet customer needs, and flexibility and adaption to change
  • Proven experience in account development strategies
  • Computer literate - proven competence in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel regionally.
