The job
Little Sun is looking for an Africa Sales and Business Development Coordinator to join our team in Berlin, Germany, to increase off-grid sales of Little Sun solar lamps and expand our local distributor network in Sub-Saharan Africa. The job consists mainly of developing Little Sun’s African market access through coordinating the work with our existing African distribution partners as well as identifying potential new off-grid partners and expanding our network and reach.
Your challenge will also be to
- Act as a liaison between our African distributors and the Little Sun HQ team, making sure everyone is kept up to date on relevant developments
- Keep transparent and updated central records of all off-grid activity
- Develop off-grid business materials with Little Sun HQ, adapting them to specific countries’ contexts
The profile
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in sales, marketing, and distribution (including logistics and import). Ideally, you have experience from off-grid countries, in particular Sub-Saharan Africa; experience working within the field of energy access and solar power is a distinct advantage.
Your profile must reflect outstanding cross-cultural sensitivity skills. Furthermore, excellent communication, impeccable presentation, and strong networking skills are highly valued.

Qualifications
You have a university degree (or equivalent experience) in business development, international relations, economics or other relevant fields.
You have a general good knowledge about business set-up and development, ideally within a BoP market context.
- Complete fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Other European languages (particularly French) are a definite asset
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and basic book-keeping skills are an advantage
