Manager - Accounting

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Manager Accounting is responsible for preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with the accounting standards. Shall be responsible, for the maintenance of fixed asset register.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates all Accounting operations;
Prepares reports and returns on financial performance of the Corporation's activities;
Designs and reviews accounting systems and accounting manuals;
Prepares and reviews final accounts, statutory returns and ensures their filing to the appropriate authorities;
Makes coordination with external auditors;
Reviews performance evaluation and Management Information Reporting (MIR) for TPDC, subsidiary companies and joint ventures;
Maintains General Ledger and ensures updates of same as required by the Financial Regulations;
Ensures safe custody of assets and optimal use of resources;
Manages Fixed Assets and ensure that Fixed Assets Register are maintained and updated on time;
Participates in setting plans, standard costs and budgetary guidelines for the Corporation;
Prepares regular operating and financial performance reports to the Management;
Prepares in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, consolidated annual accounts of the Corporation and subsidiaries;
Arranges for accounts of TPDC to be audited by external auditors;
Submits regular operating and financial performance reports to the management;
Undertakes training of staff under the Section;
Performs any other duties assigned by Director of Finance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Direct Entry Qualifications:

Holder of a Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent and CPA (T) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution:
Specialization in international finance in Oil and Gas shall be an added advantage

WORKING EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years' experience of which 3 years must be at senior level relevant field. Proven high administrative and managerial ability in the oil industry and knowledge of international oil business is essential.
