Head of Retail

Twiga Bancorp Limited (TBCL) is a fast growing Non-Bank Financial Institution established under the Banking and Financial Institution Act (1991). The Institution has five Branches, two in Dar es Salaam and one each in Arusha, Dodoma and Mwanza. The Institution also operates Sub-Branch activities at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy in Kigamboni - Dar es Salaam as well as a service outlet in Bunda - Mara Region.
The institution is in the process of managing change by reengineering its organizational structure, introducing new products and services and reinforcing efficiency and professionalism in its operations. The bank has recently migrated to a state-of-the art banking software with the aim of improving its services and product offering.
In order to effect the envisaged changes, the Institution invites suitable applicants to fill the following post:

JOB SUMMARY
Head of Retail is responsible for managing Twiga Bancorp Limited (TBCL) retail business and directing business growth for all products and services as well as delivery channels. He will be responsible for branches and agencies sales activities and ensuring that targets for all branches and products are achieved. S/he will ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning and deployment and management of sales personnel. S/he will identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and earnings.
S/he is also responsible for the development, implementation and management of the sales management system as well as development of new products and services to meet the customer needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Develop and implement of the retail Strategy, that includes, establishing and managing effective programs that compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel
Plan, and lead the execution of all sales initiative for TBCL in all branches in coordination with Branch Manager's and the marketing team
Review progress of sales roles and develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all TBCL products and services
Develop specific sales targets for each branch and agency, and lead branch managers towards achieving those targets and review the progress on a weekly basis
Collaborate with Branch managers and product managers to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines and ensure all targets agreed are achieved by each branch for each product
In collaboration with the marketing team, plan periodical events such as branded outdoor promotions, campaigns, financial education and other social events to support business growth for all products and services while improving brand engagement in the community
Manage all Branch managers, product managers and sales personnel and assists them in establishing personal contact and rapport with top echelon decision-makers in order to grow business
Ensure that all Staff Members of TBCL are properly trained on sales and are applying sales techniques during interaction with potential and existing customers
Work with branch managers and other functional managers to provide strategic direction and oversight of the sales initiative, suggest and recommend corrective action or new products/services as needed to
Director of Business Development (DBD) & Management team and drive implementation of approved corrective actions and or products
Meet with key potential clients and conduct sales presentation, assist and coach branch staff in developing and maintaining relationships as well as ability to negotiate and close sales transactions
Provide DBD with weekly/monthly sales activities report showing sales activities done per week in all the branches, clearly indicating what activities were done, what was the outcome in terms of business generated, what were the challenges and recommend improvements
Identify and develop new partnerships with other organizations, government ministries and entities as well as individual organizations that will contribute to the increase of profitability for TBCL
To initiate projects on implementation of the partnership programs.
In cooperation with other departments to facilitate establishment of necessary the processes and procedures to enable good quality of delivery of these programs.
Control the delivery of the developed programs. Analyze effectiveness and feedback from potential and existing customers and develop and implement necessary changes
Analyze performance of the established partnerships. Research on, develop and perform implementation of additional businesses with existing partners.

COMPETENCIES
Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team. Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
A team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite '(MS Excel, Word, and Power Point) is required,'
Advanced people management and motivation skills
Good knowledge of the Sales Management and Customer Service.
Excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
University Degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration or related discipline. MBA is an added advantage
At least 5 years of experience in Banking Sector (Retail,
Corporate, Microfinance Business)
At least.2 years of managerial experience in Retail Banking

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Number of clients recruited both depositors and borrowers
Sales volume or portfolio generated for both deposit and loans
Revenue generated
Clients attrition rate
Number of sales drive/events organized and its outcome
Staff retention and ability to sell TBCL products and services
Successful New products development and implementation
