The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.

The Regional Programme for Africa is responsible for the coordination, follow-up and reporting of the activities undertaken in Africa. Through continuous relations with each and every African Member State, as well as with the Affiliate Members in the region, the programme ensures, a fair, yet strategic, geographically balanced repartition of UNWTO activities. It also establishes and maintains relations with non-Member States in order to integrate them within the Organization.

UNWTO is currently looking for a Collaborator for its 7th Edition of INVESTOUR 2016. INVESTOUR is a Tourism Investment and Business forum jointly organised by UNWTO, FITUR and Casa Africa. The Forum’s main objective is to promote the development of sustainable tourism in Africa, while encouraging exchanges on investment and business opportunities.

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Director, Regional Programme for Africa, the incumbent is charged with the responsibility of the coordination and organization of the 7th Edition of INVESTOUR 2016.

The main tasks include:

1. Coordination and technical secretariat of INVESTOUR, a Tourism Investment and Business Forum for Africa;
2. Coordination with the organizing partners in setting meetings, drawing up minutes of meetings, reports and follow-up;
3. Coordination of the promotional tasks through the various channels of the microsite/website, brochure and videos;
4. Preparation of application forms including all logistical and administrative details pertaining to the project;
5. Identify, attract, and follow-up on companies interested in investing or cooperating with tourism projects in Africa to register and get their contact details and update existing database of company profiles;
6. Coordination for companies/participants to register for the event and organize the round table sessions and ensure the participation of speakers;
7. Preparation of the INVESTOUR Guidebook;
8. Identification and follow-up on potential sponsors and update sponsorship dossier;
9. Survey and evaluation of the event, prepare final report of the event and finalization of financial accounts;
10. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:University Degree/Diploma in business administration or related field.

Languages:Fluency in English, French and Spanish

Computer Skills:
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office software and Windows 7;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint).

Other Skills and Competencies:
• Experience in organizing international conferences, commercial and public relations skills is required;
• Knowledge of the African continent and African institutions is an asset.

Remuneration and Other conditions:
A monthly fee of EUR 2,000, payable at the end of each month. The Collaborator will be affiliated to the UNWTO health insurance plan (co-shared scheme in conformity with the Organization’s procedures).
