Vice President, External Relations & Communications
THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

Reporting to the President, you will work closely with the UBC Executive to provide dynamic and thoughtful leadership for all the University’s external relations and communications system-wide.  You will foster a collaborative team who are clear about their role in supporting the University’s goals and academic priorities.  Your mandate will be to provide direction for the University’s various communications functions, broad based engagement with external communities and campus planning activities to accomplish the vision, commitments and goals as set out in the University’s strategic plan. 
You will be a gifted relationship builder, communicator and strategist who has demonstrated excellence in building deep, authentic interactions with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders including all levels of government, First Nations, community groups, businesses and fellow academic institutions.  You will work across all aspects of the University to ensure a welcoming “gateway” for stakeholder partnerships is established for all faculties and departments.  This role will play a key part in facilitating these relationships and the strong connectivity to the multi-faceted communities UBC serves.
