Assistant Business Development Manager , ICEALION General Insurance Company (T) Ltd


The Assistant Business Development Manager plays an important role in pursuance of Corporate Business growth and profitability strategies and most importantly:
1. Perform and ensure steady business acquisition and growth within the set departmental Budgets/Targets;
2. Initiate, Plan and Implement suitable business development strategies and initiatives that meet the
organizational business objectives;
3.Develop and nurture intermediary linkages and foster stronger business relationships with new and existing business sources and handling of renewal and retention of all existing accounts for the business.
4.Enhance and maintain regular and close collaboration with the Underwriting department, Claims department and Accounts department' to ensure that sales are maximized and products as well as customer service delivery meet and exceed the highest standards.
5.Evaluate and monitor customer needs, market environment, competitor data and activities and' implement marketing plans and recommend appropriate solutions and changes as needed.
6.Implement appropriate training programmes for the sales team, maximize on sales leads and ensure
efficient customer service levels from the sales and business development team.
7.Motivate, value people, nurture and mould a vibrant Business development team by maximizing talent and build stronger networks and relationships while managing the success of the all initiatives, plans and objectives of the department and the business.
8.Actively Participate in the preparation of Company Business Budgets and Plans, Marketing Budgets,
Marketing Calendar of Activities, and Marketing Manuals
9Initiate, Manage and coordinate all of marketing and sales promotions, brand awareness activities to ensure that the company brand name is strong and visible in the market including all the branches;
10.Research, initiate and develop suitable new attractive insurance products and services to ensure that both the departmental and the company business revenue targets are achieved; ,
11.Control and preside over the effective use and management of the departmental assets and properties for efficient conduct of the business;
12.Prepare and submit Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual departmental and management reports and maintain relevant and up to date Database (statistics) and information relating to the overall performance and operation of the Business development department;
13.Perform any other duties and tasks as assigned by a person occupying a senior position in the Company.

1.A University Degree in Insurance, Marketing, Business Management of equivalent
2.Achieved or passed several papers towards an Associateship of Insurance qualifications
3.At least 3 years working experience in a similar position in an insurance company or intermediary
4.A working knowledge of applicable computer applications
5.Must be results oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills,
6.Must possess good interpersonal, customer service,
selling, negotiation skills
7. Must be ready to work beyond hours, attend meetings/seminars across branches
